Meant for web developers and anyone else who wants to test a website, Multi-Browser Viewer is an easy to use cross browser testing software tool that has a lot to offer: virtualized standalone desktop and mobile browsers, screen capture browsers, screenshot overlay comparison, built-in HTML validation and correction.

Getting the Multi-Browser Viewer installation file, which is 23.3MB in size, will not take long on a high-speed internet connection. A setup wizard will launch when you run the installation file and thus, you will be able to quickly install the application on a Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7-powered machine. You will get to choose between a complete install (all program's features and virtualized browsers will be installed), a custom install (you can choose the virtualized browsers to be installed), and a minimum install (only the Multi-Browser framework is installed and the virtualized browsers are downloaded when needed).

To the left, the Multi-Browser Viewer interface presents a long list of browsers on Linux, Mac, and Windows – something like Linux Chrome 4.0, Mac OS Firefox 11, and Windows Opera 10.0. In the center upper part you have tabs for Standalone Browsers, Mobile Browsres, View as Album, View HTML Source, View in IE9, and View As Folder. What you see in the main pane changes depending on the tab you select.

There’s a handy Multi-Browser Viewer Quick Start Guide presented in the interface, a guide that explains that you can test a website using standalone web browsers that have been virtualized, make sure that a page loads correctly on a mobile web browsers, and load a page into multiple operating system-browser combo and compare the screenshot images. The trial version of Multi-Browser Viewer, which is free to use for a period of 14 days, gives you access to 20 standalone web browsers, 4 standalone mobile browsers, 54 screen capture browsers. A registered version provides access to many more browsers.

On top of the numerous virtualized browsers, Multi-Browser Viewer comes with a screenshot overlay comparison function that allows you to put two screenshots next to one another or overlay one on top of another, and built-in HTML validation and correction.

You can easily test your website on the myriad of virtualized web browsers the cross browser testing software tool Multi-Browser Viewer puts at your disposal.

Pros

Choose between a minimum, custom, and complete install when installing Multi-Browser Viewer on XP, Vista, or Windows 7. There’s a handy Multi-Browser Viewer Getting Started Guide. You have access to multiple virtualized browsers, mobile browsers, screen capture browsers, a screenshot overlay comparison function, and built-in HTML validation and correction. Support for multiple browsers is provided. Pick between several themes to change the way the cross browser testing software tool looks like.

Cons

The trial version is free to use for an evaluation period of 14 days and it gives access to a limited number of browsers. Every time I restarted my machine I got a prompt that kept on asking me to install Multi-Browser Viewer, even after uninstalling the application and removing the Multi-Browser Viewer entry from the list of applications that launch at startup.
